Projects — Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Project Phase One 2009
This year SoundAffects is working with ten linked schools in UK and Sri Lanka, in partnership with the charity Adopt Sri Lanka Twin, which was formed in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami, to link schools as a way of supporting communities and children as they rebuilt their lives.
Project leaders have been working in schools in UK and Sri Lanka to record audio material, and present it in structured workshops. They will also be producing themed DVDs around the joint curriculum topics as outlined below.
Sri Lanka Project Phase Two 2010
In Phase Two of the project, scheduled for 2010, project leaders will return to Sri Lanka to train local SoundAffects project workers, and facilitate them as they take over the recording operation, thus making the audio dialogue sustainable and enabling the project to work with many more links.
